A Photographer's Journey through Vintage Cameras and Multiple Exposures

Vikki Rutter, a skilled and passionate photographer, has embarked on a captivating visual journey using vintage cameras and expired 120 film. With a meticulous eye for detail and a deep appreciation for the nostalgic charm of analogue photography, Vikki creates multi exposure images that add texture and layers to the often overlooked mundane.

Whilst restoring her grandfather‘s cameras, she became enamoured with the unique capabilities of Kodak box brownies and bellows cameras. The mechanical intricacies and distinct characteristics of these bring an added layer of depth and personality to her work.

Through the deliberate process of composing and capturing these multiple exposures, she weaves together a tapestry of narratives, merging different worlds and emotions into a single frame. Each click of the shutter is an invitation to explore the interplay of light, textures, and subjects, revealing a story that unfolds with every glance.

In an era dominated by digital advancements, Vikki finds solace in the simplicity and authenticity of analogue photography. The limitations of vintage cameras force her to slow down and carefully consider each frame, resulting in an intentional and deliberate artistic process. The imperfections and idiosyncrasies of these cameras become a vital part of Vikki's work, infusing it with a timeless quality that captivates and engages.

As Vikki continues to explore the possibilities of multiple exposure photography with vintage cameras, she invites viewers on a visual journey that layers and reflects.
