CHERNOBYL

22-25 FEB 2024 | 10AM-5PM | STANTON STUDIO | FREE

A group exhibition of work exploring the aftermath of the Chernobyl, the worst disaster in nuclear power generation history.

The exhibition features work by four photographers – Joe Stanton, Simon Smith, Wendy Turner and Richard Abram, who visited the Chernobyl exclusion zone in the North of Ukrainian SSR in 2018. The group documented the power plant, the apartments of the workers, schools, cafes, military factories and the hospital in Pripyat – deserted spaces in what was once a model Soviet City. The photographs are stark reminders of past lives, and leave a disturbing sense of quiet and uneasiness.
